ROYAL THEATER OF THE MONNAIE / DE MUNT

The royal Theater of the Monnaie is an Opera hall located in the center of Brussels, on the place of the Monnaie. The first building was built in 1700 by Gio Paolo Bombarda and was known as one of the most beautiful theaters of the 18th century.
The actual structure built in 1855 by Joseph Poelaert succeeds and replaces the previous one unveiled in 1819 and burned down. This building witnessed the trigger of the revolution in 1830 which brought to the Independance to Belgium.
